Colleen was raised in Norton, where she was taught the values of community, hard work, and civic responsibility from an early age. As the proud daughter of a Marine Vietnam veteran, Colleen grew up with a deep appreciation for service and sacrifice. Her parents instilled in her the importance of giving back and staying involved in local matters—a lesson that has served as a cornerstone of her personal and professional life.
In 2001, Colleen moved to Taunton after marrying her husband, Dennis. The couple chose Taunton as the city where they would raise their family and contribute to the community. Over the years, Colleen and Dennis have raised their three children—Mollie, Dylan, and Grace—in Taunton, with all three attending Taunton Public Schools. Her experience as a parent invested in the local education system has given her a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Taunton's families.
Community Engagement
Colleen's commitment to her community is evident in her extensive track record of involvement. She served on the Board of Directors at her children's preschool, Brick House School, and has held leadership roles as PTO president for both their elementary and middle schools. These roles provided her with valuable insights into the needs of local schools and the importance of parental involvement in education.
Beyond her contributions to the school system, Colleen has taken independent initiatives to address issues directly impacting Taunton's neighborhoods. She has organized community cleanups to combat blight, demonstrating her hands-on approach to improving the quality of life for residents. These efforts highlight her dedication to creating a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for all. Colleen has also volunteered for local youth sports organizations, Taunton Girls Softball and Taunton West Little League.
Professional Experience

For 20 years, she worked for Shaw’s Supermarkets, where she held various roles in management, community relations, and as a union steward. This experience allowed her to develop skills in team leadership, problem-solving, and advocating for employees—all of which she plans to bring to her role as a City Council member.
In 2013, Colleen transitioned to working for the Taunton Business Improvement District, where she was promoted to Executive Director, a role in which she has been instrumental in driving economic development and supporting local businesses. Her work with the Business Improvement District has given her a deep understanding of the city's economic landscape and the steps needed to foster sustainable growth.
Public Service
Colleen's passion for civic engagement extends to her work as a member of key city committees. She has served on the City’s Master Plan Committee and the Taunton Redevelopment Authority, where she has played a role in shaping the city's future.
